The sudden and unexpected passing of Stanley Jeremiah, Managing Partner of XL Law, Solicitors and Advocates, England has come as an absolute shock for many.
He was born 3 February 1960 and was 58 when he passed away on 30 January 2019 in London. He had been ill for some time.
Stanley had a wide and varied career. He was a lawyer in Singapore (since 1986) and England as well as a Chartered Insurer and a leading Insurance executive in Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Stanley graduated from University of London with a LLB and a LLM degrees and was admitted to practise law in Singapore and England. He was a Past President of the Insurance Institute of Singapore.
For all his qualifications and achievements, Stanley was courteous to everyone, slow to anger and often able to stay calm when others were failing to do so. Clarity of thought and expression was his forte.
Many who sought him out for advice did not find him wanting. Ample evidence of the high regard many had of Stanley is evidenced by the numerous endorsements of his skills on his Linkedin Profile. Few in Singapore have better knowledge of insurance and Wills and Estates than Stanley.
Stanley contributed in many ways to the development of EzWills. He provided his views (not all of which was accepted), advice and suggestions, perhaps the most notable of which was the EzWills name itself.
At the time of Stanley’s passing we had been waiting for him to get back to work after his doctor had advised him to take 6 to 8 weeks off work to recover. We were looking forward to getting him to participate in the next stage of development of EzWills. Alas it is not to be.
Farewell Stan and thank you. Be content that you have lived your life well and made a positive contribution to the lives of many.
He will be a great loss to both the insurance industry and the legal profession.
Stanley’s family wishes to let all his friends know, the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 12 March 2019, at 3:15 pm in Hither Green Crematorium, Verdant Lane, SE6 1TP, UK. This will be followed by a Thanksgiving Service at the Metropolitan Tabernacle, Elephant and Castle, London SE1 6SD, UK.
